Many owners hire a manager to handle the day-to-day business dealings of the practice. But these owners must still be cognizant of the bottom line, monitoring it every now and then through meetings with the manager. If you are truly fearful of the business-related items that accompany practice ownership, consider taking management-focused continuing education courses. After all, a veterinary practice is a business, even though the primary focus is on caring for pets.
