3 tips for an earth-friendly practice

Reducing, recycling, and reusing plastic packaging is a regular habit at Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. Head technician Laurie Smith, RVT, offers these tips to reduce waste:

  • Repurpose tuberculin syringe containers to hold dental prophy paste for dental cleanings.

  • Employ the plastic packaging from catheters to hold reusable pipettes for dispensing mineral oil on slides for ear mite and skin scraping tests.

  • Hold on to fecal loop samples using the plastic sleeves from 3cc syringes.
