Voters on dvm360.com chose Carolina Ranch Animal Hospital & Resort in Garner, North Carolina, as the 2017 Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Competition People's Choice Award winner from the entire pool of 2017 entries. Read on for more about the veterinary hospital and boarding facility.

Owned by Drs. John Strasser and Elizabeth Bauer, a desire to create a complete ranch-style vacation experience for patients and clients drove the facility design, according to their entry, starting with an authentic “working ranch” architectural vibe that continues through the landscape design.

First impressions are important at Carolina Ranch, which boasts an impressive 30,000+ square foot floorplan, and Drs. Strasser and Bauer strove to combine architectural beauty, impressive materials and lobby size with excellent client and patient flow, safety and hygiene. The resulting oversized lobby is visually striking.

Noise and odor control for the large facility are maintained by a hallway that separates the public and medical areas of the practice from the pet care areas like the boarding facility and daycare areas.

In the resort, animals are trained, groomed, boarded or come for daycare. In these areas, patient flow and employee efficiency were the priority criteria in the physical architecture.

This is an unbelievably beautiful facility. For the first time, I don't feel guilty leaving my pet there. She loves it. I want my pet to have the best, and at Carolina Ranch she does!

I love this place, which I refer to as "The Spa" for my dogs. They love going there and everyone is amazing. I know they're treated well because when we go in, they pull on their leashes to go to the back where their friends are. I drive 45 minutes one way to take them there and would never consider going anywhere else. Carolina Ranch is a godsend to me.

The facility and staff are top notch in all aspects of the veterinary business. We have been Dr. Strasser and his group for a very long time.

The facility is amazing. What makes Carolina Ranch stand out is the staff. You've got these beautiful accommodations coupled with a staff who greets you with a smile and treats your furry family as he/she were part of their very own. It's obvious that Carolina Ranch is proud of their facility and their work. As they should be.

For so many different reasons, I wouldn't recommend anywhere else for boarding and veterinary needs! Carolina Ranch is the most professional and trustworthy establishment for any pet owner. They have amazing staff and provide top-of-the-line service and products without the worry for pet owners and really go above and beyond with customer service. I will never board my pet anywhere else!

Absolutely blessed to live right down the road from this magnificent facility. Cannot sing enough praises for Dr. Bauer, the facilities are immaculate, and they offer everything one could possibly need/want for their pet.
