2009 Year in Review

It was 6:15 p.m. on May 21 when the would-be robber walked into the Radbill Animal Hospital, demanded money and claimed to have a gun. Veterinary technician Wanda Auten responded by pulling her own firearm, and the man was later subdued with the help of a 20-year police officer and client. The incident touched off debate on ways to handle potentially violent encounters in the workplace. See A dog day afternoon.
