Laurel Lagoni is the director of the Argus Institute for Families and Veterinary Medicine at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital and has been providing grief education and support for pet owners, veterinary students and veterinary teams since 1984. She earned her master's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University and went on to co-found and co-direct the nationally recognized pet loss program called Changes: Support for People and Pets. Lagoni is the co-author of a textbook entitled, The Human-Animal Bond and Grief.
