Gary Behler will take on this newly formed position to ensure the company remains committed to its mission of taking care of its veterinary professionals while maintaining the highest quality of patient care.

Vet’s Best Friend—a Massachusetts-based group of veterinary clinics—has named Gary Behler as the company’s new chief people officer (CPO). Behler steps into this new role from his current position as chief operating officer (COO), which he has held for the last 2 and a half years.

According to a company release, as the CPO, Behler will immediately begin leading the HR and Benefits department and remain dedicated to preserving Vet’s Best Friend’s mission to “take care of the people who take care of our pets.” What’s more, Behler will also lead culture, community-building, and philanthropy efforts to curate a thriving and safe environment for veterinary professionals, patients, and clients.

“It is our goal to not only ensure our team’s work experience is positive but also to build a meaningful culture which attracts the best and brightest talent to our organization,” says Jeff Wilson, CEO of Vet’s Best Friend, in the release.

“It is important to us that our company values are embodied in all that we do, and Gary will work hard to ensure that we are fulfilling our mission for our team as Vet’s Best Friend grows,” Wilson added.
