Vet’s Best Friend appoints chief veterinary officer

January 10, 2022
dvm360 Staff

Cheryl Brocki, DVM, has been promoted to this new position and will contribute to the company’s continual growth.

Vet’s Best Friend—a Massachusetts-based group of veterinary clinics—has appointed current vice president of veterinary relations, Cheryl Brocki, DVM, to their new chief veterinary officer (CVO) position.

According to a company release, Brocki has served as VP of veterinary relations since March 2020 and will immediately assume the new CVO role to contribute to the company's continued success. As CVO, Brocki will be responsible for developing plans and programs that focus on employee well-being while attracting and retaining top veterinary talent. In a time of pivotal growth, the company aims to continue adding more veterinarians to the team who reflect and accelerate their mission 'to take care of the people who take care of our pets.'

In addition, Brocki will create and execute a long-term recruitment and career development strategy to meet these target growth objectives and hiring goals, according to the release. With an extensive background in the industry, she will help to assist and guide in growth plans, meet with prospective clinics, and further strengthen the overall company brand and voice.

As a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, Brocki reflected on her aspirations of becoming a veterinarian from a young age, and that her love of caring for pets coupled with her passion for science has remained her primal focus.

With 15 years of practicing veterinary medicine in the field and holding leadership positions (ie, associate doctor, chief of staff, medical director, etc), Brocki has become a member of the leadership team at Vet’s Best Friend.

“I now have an amazing opportunity to create change in the industry,” shared Brocki. “I’m looking forward to combining my passion for medicine, science, and caring for pets with my excitement for mentorship and providing support for our veterinary teams.”

With Vet’s Best Friend further expanding, the company remains dedicated to offering the most fulfilling career for existing and future employees.
