LOS ANGELES—In a unique charitable partnership with local Coca-Cola bottlers, buying a soda at VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA) helps save the lives of thousands of animals by raising funds to support the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF).
Coca-Cola bottlers placed vending machines at participating VCA Animal Hospitals, with soft drink proceeds directly benefiting the work of AVMF, on behalf of all animals. This year, VCA's partnership with Coca-Cola helped raise $20,000 for the AVMF, whose mission is to improve the health and welfare of animals of all species.
At a recent convention, Donna Kimball, director of recruiting for VCA Animal Hospitals, with Sunrise Veterinary Group Manager Adam Heaven, presented the donation check to Dr. Robert Gordon, chair of the AVMF board of directors. VCA Animal Hospitals has a long-established history of community commitment for both animal-related and other worthy causes, including providing corporate support on a national level for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants wishes to seriously ill children, the company reports.
