The art and science of veterinary practice valuation

Video
San Diego

In a dvm360® interview, San Diego Fetch faculty member and co-CEO of the Ackerman Group provides expert insight on determining your practice's price

In this dvm360® interview, Richard Lester, MBA, co-CEO at the Ackerman Group Inc in Villanova, Pennsylvania, describes how to determines a veterinary practice's valuation through an "art and science" approach.

The following is a partial transcript of the video.

Richard Lester, MBA: We always like to talk about valuation being a combination of an art and a science. And so the science is the formula. So the formula that buyers use to value a practice is their historical or trailing 12 months profits, times a multiple. And so the science is figuring out what the historical profit profits are.

There's still time to register for our San Diego Fetch dvm360® conference taking place this Friday through Sunday, December 2-4, 2022. Go here.
