Eleanor M. Green, DVM, DACVIM, DABVP, dean of Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine Biomedical Sciences, has started her term as president of the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC).
Following her appointment as president-elect in 2014, Green started her duties at AAVMC's annual meeting in Boston. “We're fortunate to have so many talented and dedicated educators working in our member institutions and I look forward to working closely with them as we continue our efforts to create opportunity and progress in veterinary medicine,” Green says in a university release.

Green (left) receives the gavel from immediate former AAVMC president Dr. Trevor Ames (right).Green graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and is a diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). Her résumé incudes serving as the president of the ABVP, the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) and the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians (AAVC).
Douglas Freeman, DVM, MS, PhD, DACT, dean of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, was appointed AAVMC president-elect.

> Madison Herrick, DVM student, Western University of Health Sciences, at-large, SCAVMA liaison

> Dr. Jean Sander, dean of the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine, secretary.
