Davis says it is the university's goal to provide information in the field of veterinary medicine and agriculture. This venture will add to the university's ability to provide information to media, government and public regarding the horse industry.

The center could provide economic analysis for impacts of programs and proposed legislation in the U.S. and horse industries, Davis says in a prepared statement. The center will receive information from the Strategic Development Council that will meet at Texas A&M in February. A Blue Ribbon Advisory Panel will be formed to provide feedback.
