Addition to the software to bolster client communication and free up the front desk team

Shepherd Veterinary Software has added a pet portal that offers clients the capability to request appointments and prescription refills online, ultimately helping to relieve front-desk stress.

New and current clients can access appointment requests through the pet portal. The veterinary team can respond to every request and quickly add the appointment to their schedule and inform the client.

"Shepherd users are alerted to new requests directly in the software to view and take action when time permits, simplifying their daily workflow," said Barnes. "This is a must-have feature for today's busy practices."

According to the release,1 clients also can access their pet's prescription history, the number of refills remaining, and a convenient way to request a refill. These requests are sent instantly to the Shepherd Dashboard which streamlines refill approvals and client notifications. When the requests are approved, Shepherd Pay enables clients to pay the invoice within their pet portal, then processes your payment and updates your records.
