A scheduling emergency

In "Pull Through the Recession" (January 2009) Mark Opperman, CVPM, is quoted as suggesting teams build one 10-minute emergency slot per doctor into every day's schedule.

I attended his CE seminar, It's What's Up Front that Counts and More, last year and remember him talking about having several emergency slots available per doctor.

My practice is moving toward following this advice and I'm curious if this is a misquote or he changed his advice.

I want to be able to accommodate emergency appointments to raise customer satisfaction.
