WESTBROOK, ME. — IDEXX announces the IDEXX/EBI® Salmonella polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for horses. The test provides results within 24 hours, allowing for more rapid identification of affected horses, enabling veterinarians to contain and discourage the spread of Salmonella.
The test detects symptomatic and asymptomatic horses, confirming the presence of Salmonella organisms with a specific and sensitive real-time PCR test.
