National Veterinary Associates (NVA)—a pet care organization and community of more than 1,400 veterinary clinics and pet resorts—has publicized that SAGE Veterinary Centers (SAGE)—a specialty and emergency medicine provider—has officially joined the NVA family, having closed the acquisition announced prior.

According to a release,1 SAGE joins NVA Compassion-First, the company’s dedicated specialty and emergency care group. This partnership will strengthen NVA’s dedication to offering progressive, compassionate, and exceptional medicine.

“We are so pleased to welcome SAGE and its outstanding teams to the NVA Compassion-First family, expanding our ability to exceed the growing demands of pet parents for world-class specialty and emergency medicine,” said Greg Hartmann, CEO of NVA, in the release.

“Known for its collaborative and tight-knit community, SAGE is a great complement to NVA as we both share a philosophy of supporting our teams so they can provide world-class care to patients,” he continued.

“We are thrilled to join the NVA Compassion-First family as like-minded partners committed to driving the future of specialty and emergency veterinary medicine,” said Gina Del Vecchio, CEO of SAGE.

Del Vecchio added in the release that NVA Compassion-First makes an excellent partner for SAGE as the veterinarians and teams will be offered more opportunities to collaborate, grow, and thrive. Additionally, its team members plus patients and clients will experience substantial benefits.

Since its inception in 1992, SAGE operates in the western United States featuring clinics in Alaska, Arizona, California, and Washington. SAGE joins NVA Compassion-First’s family of more than 100 specialty, emergency, and surgical hospitals. As SAGE and NVA Compassion-First’s have an aligned method for veterinary care, SAGE’s management, their founding veterinarians, and Chicago Pacific Founders have rolled over a portion of their investment proceeds into stock in NVA as part of the transaction.1
