Rehabilitation in the Acute Postoperative Period

This talk identifies some factors that must be considered when designing a rehabilitation program for an animal following surgery. The phases of wound healing are reviewed and correlated with the phases of rehabilitation. This knowledge is applied to appropriate therapy selection. Some of the indications for and effects of hot packs, cold packs, electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound and therapeutic exercise are presented.. (1 CE credit)
