PetSmart gifts $25,000 to K9s For Warriors
In honor of Veterans Day, this donation supports US veterans by pairing them with devoted service dogs
On Veterans Day tomorrow, PetSmart will award $25,000 to K9s For Warriors, the nation's largest provider of trained service dogs for veterans. This organization is partnered with PetSmart Charities, which funds animal welfare in the US.

According to an organizational release,1 the funds will go towards K9s For Warriors' goal to end veteran suicide through the loving support of service dogs, many of which are rescues, at no cost to the service members.
"We are incredibly grateful for the support of PetSmart to further our mission to end veteran suicide," stated K9s For Warriors CEO Carl Cricco, in an organizational release.1 "K9s For Warriors has the privilege every day to see the impact a Service Dog has on a veteran. With a battle buddy by their side, the veteran returns to a life of dignity and independence. PetSmart's generosity allows us to continue changing veteran lives."
What’s more, PetSmart has debuted a new associate resource group called SERVE, which celebrates the service of PetSmart associates who are veterans and their families. SERVE fosters an environment that makes veterans feel included and also informs the larger PetSmart team on the impact and culture of veterans.1
