Pet insurance: Ensure that they're insured
Veterinary clients with pet insurance are willing to spend more to care for their pets.
Are you educating clients about pet insurance? Even if you answer, “yes,” chances are, your efforts aren’t working. Most pet owners find out about pet insurance either through a friend or through pet insurance carriers and veterinary practices, but just 2 percent of American pet owners actually sign up. So work with your team to educate clients about insuring their pets. Your patients will be healthier and your practice owner will be much happier—particularly since clients with insured pets are willing to purchase thousands more in veterinary services.
