Pet insurance collaborators aim for quick and intuitive enrollments
PetPartners' OnePack plan and Selerix, a technological administration solutions provider, are combining resources to help expand employee access to veterinary care.
A collaboration between pet insurance provider PetPartners and Selerix, a benefits administration solutions provider, is combining comprehensive coverage with an intuitive technological platform. The partnership aims to help employers and resellers ensure a quick, integrated pet insurance enrollment experience.1
A 2025 report from the American Pet Products Association (APPA) showed that 94 million US households own at least one pet, which is an increase from 82 million in 2023. The APPA also found that 37% of US pet owners are concerned about access to veterinary care, of which 60% reported affordability as a barrier. “These figures reaffirm that pet care remains a top priority for Americans, reflecting the deep and lasting bond between people and their pets,” said Pete Scott, president and CEO for APPA, in a news release.2
The collaboration utilizing PetPartners’ OnePack Plan and Selerix technology addresses a growing demand from employees for pet-related benefits while helping employers meet expectations for competitive offerings. A survey of more than 1000 human resources professionals conducted by Cohen Research Group alongside PetPartners’ OnePack Plan and the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI) found that pet and pet-inclusive employment benefits have a significant impact on staff mental and physical well-being, with 78% of respondents agreeing that pet insurance is an important benefit and 82% believing that pet-friendly policies help recruit and retain top talent.1,3
“Companies that acknowledge the human–animal bond by offering pet insurance and related pet-friendly benefits are showing how much they care about employee health and well-being,” said Steve Feldman, president of HABRI, in a news release.3
The Selerix platform hosts enrollment data across benefits and compliance tools, according to the company, while the OnePack Plan was designed for simplicity by having employers act as the policyholders under a single group rate.1
Michelle Lockhart, vice president of strategic partnerships and business development for PetPartners, said the company was “thrilled” to expand access to OnePack Plan for employers and their staff. "By integrating directly into Selerix's platform, we're helping employers effortlessly add pet insurance to their benefits lineup—a meaningful offering that supports employee well-being, reduces stress, and strengthens retention at a time when employees expect personalized care and tools that safeguard their and their family's financial, emotional, and physical health," Lockhart said in a news release.1
The partnership aims to reduce administrative complexity and delivers a unified solution for pet insurance benefits. Following an open enrollment period, employees can pay for their OnePack Plan pet insurance through payroll deductions. Coverage includes protection for pre-existing conditions after 12 months, breed-inclusive policies, and a 24/7 veterinary helpline, according to PetPartners. Employers may also elect no age limits, ensuring senior pets are covered.1
Jasper Purvis, vice president of business development for Selerix, said the company was committed to delivering flexible and intuitive benefits administration solutions that enhance engagement. "Our partnership with PetPartners reinforces that commitment—making enrollment easier and helping organizations provide benefits that matter most to their workforce, including innovative options like pet insurance that support employees and their families," Purvis said.1
