A new line of pet insurance policies have been created through the company, a division of General Fire and Casualty Co. Pets Best will initially offer programs in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, and Nebraska. Texas and Utah are anticipated by the end of 2005.
The company anticipates being able to offer plans nationally by the end of 2006.
Jack Stephens, DVM, founder of Pets Best, says he designed the insurance plans to provide peace of mind to clients.
"I looked at the needs of the pet owner where a pet is considered a family member, and I focused on what pet owners and their veterinarians wanted that was not available from any other company," Stephens says.
