Happy Friday dvm360 readers! We had an absolutely BLAST at Fetch Coastal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, earlier this week and we hope all attendees did as well! Be sure to check in through the next week to see our continuous coverage of Fetch Coastal. We are also attending the American Association of Feline Practitioners Conference taking place this weekend in Memphis, Tennessee, so be on the lookout for coverage of that as well.

As we continue all our conference coverage, here are some of the top headlines on dvm360.com:

  • Zoetis announced this week it will be launching 2 new veterinary drugs into the market. Bedinvetmab injection (Librela; Zoetis), a drug that controls pain associated with osteoarthritis in dogs, received FDA approval on May 5, 2023, and Oclacitinib chewable tablets (Apoquel Chewable; Zoetis), a drug that controls pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and atopic dermatitis in dogs, which received FDA approval on June 13, 2023, are now available for prescription in the United States.
  • During an interview at our Fetch Coastal Conference, Mark Harris Jr, LVT, BS, gave insight into his background in veterinary medicine and offered tips to veterinary technicians taking clinically diagnostic radiographs.
  • Chewy shared the news this week that it has unveiled PetMD’s Symptom Checker, a user-friendly online tool that was designed in conjunction with veterinarians to help pet owners get a better understanding of what could be causing their pet's symptoms or when they should consult their veterinarian.
  • On this week’s episode of The Vet Blast Podcast, Tia Gregorio, DBA, MBA, BS, CVBL, CVT, and host Adam Christman, DVM, MBA, chat about what managers can do to help make a better clinic culture for the entire team.
  • Did you know that every issue of dvm360 now has a crossword puzzle? This month’s puzzle was created by Michael Natale, LVT, and focuses on all things veterinary technicians as part of our National Veterinary Technician Week celebration. Download the puzzle here!
  • Nominations for our Innovator of the Year Award close today! The award, in partnership with Chewy, honors one veterinarian and one paraprofessional who are strengthening the future of veterinary medicine through innovative measures.
  • And more!

Did you miss all the fun at Fetch Coastal? No worries, we still have one more Fetch conference this year! Join us for the first time ever in Long Beach, California, from December 1-3, to learn from our incredible faculty. This is not one you want to miss, so register here today to secure your spot!
