New reptile skin products awarded Best in Show at 2023 Global Pet Expo

The new skin topical product line for reptiles—Zylafen—by Pet King Brands, Inc, was named Best in Show at the 2023 Global Pet Expo, an educational tradeshow for pet specialty retailers hosted in Orlando, Florida.

According to a company release,¹ Zylafen Topical Spray and Zylafen Topical Solution support healthy, complete shedding; and alleviate irritated skin, cuts and abrasions in lizards, snakes, turtles, and other reptiles. The products use the LP3 Enzyme System which is a proprietary combination of enzymes that are soothing, non-toxic, and do not include antibiotics or corticosteroids.

Since the company was founded 25 years ago, there has been increasing concern over the use of antibiotics because of the potential side effects and threat of antibiotic resistance. Pet King Brands product lines, Zymox and Oratene, have gained popularity for their effectiveness in promoting healthy ears, skin, and mouths in small animals and livestock without antibiotics or harsh ingredients.

To meet the market demand for antibiotic-free pet care products, during 2022 the product family was expanded to include new solutions for cats and kittens, and horses and livestock.
