Pfizer Animal Health announces that Rimadyl (carprofen) caplets are nowavailable in a once-a-day dose (s.i.d.), providing pet owners with an alternativeto the twice-a-day (b.i.d.) option that has been available since 1997 whenthe drug was introduced. The total daily dose does not change, whether administeredonce or twice daily, the company says. Research results demonstrated thats.i.d. administration of 2 milligrams of Rimadyl per pound of body weightonce daily provides with the same safe, effective relief from pain and inflammationas the 1-milligram-per-pound, twice-a-day alternative, the company says.
