DULUTH, GA.— Merial announces the release of Recombitek® KC2, an intranasal vaccine that protects dogs from infectious tracheobronchitis.

The vaccine contains canine parainfluenza and Bordetella bronchiseptica, the primary causative agents to infectious tracheobronchitis, for protection against kennel cough, reports Zack Mills, executive director of pet sales for Merial.

The product is administered intranasally in a single dose and is safe to use in dogs and puppies as young as 3 weeks of age, the company says.

In one study, dogs treated with Recombitek KC2 showed complete protection after 72 hours. In a separate study, the vaccine protected up to 13 months.
