DULUTH, GA. — Merial introduces Previcox, a new coxib, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) licensed for pain management associated with canine osteoarthritis.
Previcox gives veterinarians the latest option for canine chronic pain management associated with canine osteoarthritis, the company says.
Previcox was developed specifically for companion animals and is available in a once-a-day dose that provides therapeutic pain relief for 24-hours after treatment.
"It provides fast pain relief and outstanding improvement in lameness in a convenient, flavored tablet," says Zack Mills, DVM, director of Veterinary Services for Merial.
In a one-month-long comparison trial, veterinarians saw greater lameness improvement in dogs treated with Previcox compared to those treated with other osteoarthritis treatments, the company says.
