Iowa appoints new state veterinarian

Des Moines, Iowa - 1/2/08 - David Schmitt, DVM, was selected as the new state veterinarian by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.

A member of the department since 1999, Schmitt has been the acting state DVM since April 2006, after serving as the assistant state veterinarian for seven years.
