Idea Exchange: Take the tying out of ties

Wearing a necktie can greatly enhance male veterinarians' professional image. To have the superior look of a tie-on necktie with the convenience of a clip-on, follow these steps: Tie a necktie as usual, have someone else cut the tie in half at the back of your neck, oversew the cut ends, and then sew Velcro® (Velcro Industries) onto the ends of the tie halves. By using Velcro® to keep the tie halves together, the tie can be easily taken off and put back on. If the tie loosens or becomes untied, simply attach the ends together, place the tie around your neck, and re-tie it!
