Idea Exchange: Silicone bands secure suturing

This reader tip will help you secure esophagostomy tubes in cats.

To help secure an esophagostomy tube in a cat, we wrap a Miltex silicone band (Integra LifeSciences) around the red rubber catheter so the tube will not slip into the incision. Less suturing equals a happier patient.
