Our technicians hated blowing serum out of hematocrit tubes onto refractometers because their lips often touched the tubes.

Our technicians hated blowing serum out of hematocrit tubes onto refractometers because their lips often touched the tubes. Our solution: Use the droppers from ½-oz amber dropper bottles (from the pharmacy) to blow the serum out of the hematocrit tube and onto the refractometer. It's sanitary and easy!
