February numbers flat for California veterinary practices

After a slight increase near the end of last year, revenues level out for most California practices.

Gatto McFerson CPAs’ monthly tracking report of California veterinary practices is in for the month of February. The latest survey in an ongoing study of 160 practices conducted by the veterinary accounting firm revealed the following for the month of February:

> Small animal general practices in Southern California saw flat revenue to revenue down 1 percent for the month, compared with the same time in 2010.

> Small animal general practices in Northern California saw a revenue decrease of between 2 percent and 3 percent for the month as compared with 2010.

> Specialty, emergency, and referral practices saw a slight revenue increase of about 1 percent for the month compared with the previous year.
