Virbac Animal Health introduces Omegaderm,® an essential fatty acid (EFA) supplement. The packaging allows for a more convenient way to manage itchy dog and cat skin, the company says.

"In a recent clinical study, our product was demonstrated to reduce the lesion and pruritus scores of atopic dogs," says Tom Mitchell, marketing manager for Omegaderm.

Pet owners can tear open the serving packets and squeeze the contents over the pet's food. The packet can be disposed of and eliminates measuring cups, counting the number of pumps and cleaning messy spouts.

Each daily dose of Omegaderm® delivers more than 200 mg/kg of essential fatty acids 10 times the amount contained in most capsules, the company adds.
