The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved additional label claims for Eqvalan (ivermectin), adding species and stages of small strongyles to the list of parasites controlled by the equine dewormer. The expanded label applies to Eqvalans liquid and paste formulations.The new label means that Eqvalan, manufactured and marketed by Merial, is proven to control 60 species and stages of equine parasites, 32 of which are in the small strongyle group. The expanded label claims will also apply to Merial consumer brands, Zimecterin (ivermectin) and Equimectrin (ivermectin).The new labels were awarded to Merial brands of equine ivermectin after FDAs Center for Veterinary Medicine reviewed extensive company research.
