Every Veterinary Practice Needs 2 Versions of Data Backup

Video

Nancy Dewitz, director of sales and marketing and technical consultant for Beyond Indigo Pets, recommends that veterinary practices have two versions of backup for their medical records and data.

Nancy Dewitz, director of sales and marketing and technical consultant for Beyond Indigo Pets, recommends that veterinary practices have two versions of backup for their medical records and data: on-site backup and cloud backup.

The on-site backup is for immediate recovery, but the cloud backup is for disaster recovery. Think of cloud backup like insurance, Dewitz says. By having that cloud backup you know that if the clinic is gone tomorrow, your data is still protected. Dewitz also mentions that if something is happening in your practice, the last thing your staff is thinking about is taking the backup with them.
