Elizabeth Colleran, DVM, DABVP (Feline Practice): [Environmental enrichment and environmental modification] are both very different. Enrichment means that we're making the [environment] more cat-like. So we're understanding how cats think and what they need in their lives to have a fulfilling life [and] to be able to act out their normal repertoire of behaviors.
