The optimal time to administer Settle is when risk for uterine infection is high.
Bioniche recommends using the product when a diagnosis of uterine infection has been made and while awaiting culture and sensitivity test results.
The product also may be administered in conjunction with local or systemic anti-biotic treatments, the company says.
Other uses include the day after foaling or at the first sign of estrus in known endometritis-susceptible mares, at time of retained placenta removal and/or at the first heat of mares with history of retained placenta, among others.
