Farnam introduces LTS tag recorder, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Tag Recorder anywhere livestock are located.

Farnam introduces LTS tag recorder, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Tag Recorder anywhere livestock are located.

The Farnam LTS Tag Recorder is a rugged Palm® based Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) with an integrated RFID reader and data accumulator designed for a variety of applications in livestock identification.

It functions as a stand-alone unit in the field and comes with a user-definable software interface that can be customized with multiple sets of data collection fields to suit individual requirements.

The unit offers the versatility of switching from one set of data collection fields to another without downloading the data to a PC or laptop first, the company says.

The user-definable fields allow the unit to be tailored to many types of users; feedlots, veterinarians, livestock inspectors, dairies, ranches, and sale barns. Getting data from the reader into a computer is easily done through the Palm HotSync® software. Once there, it can be easily modified using Microsoft® Excel® or most any other data management program that can import comma separated file types.

With its dust and waterproof IP67 rating, the Farnam LTS Tag Recorder can stand up to the harshest environments. Unlike laptops and standard PDAs that are susceptible to water and dust, this unit is sealed from moisture and dust making it possible to read tags in any environment.

In addition, the Dual-Read capability allows the user to read the latest FDX technology as well as legacy HDX style ear tags.

The Farnam LTS Tag Recorder provides a data accumulator that is built in to the reader and can operate for many hours on a single charge. It is portable and even comes with a carrying pouch that clips to a belt.

The Farnam LTS Tag Recorder is the perfect partner to Farnam's other Tag Reader systems for fast, easy, accurate and dependable tag tallying in the field - no matter where your cattle are.

It comes with an AC Adapter, your choice of Serial or USB communications cable, 128 MB non-volatile memory, ensuring data security in the event of power loss, and it also comes with a 12-month warranty.
