Dr. Robin Downing named president of human-animal bond group

After serving as an association member for 17 years, Dr. Downing takes over leadership of the American Association of Human-Animal Bond Veterinarians.

Dr. Robin Downing, owner of Windsor Veterinary Clinic and The Downing Center for Animal Pain Management in Windsor, Colo., has been named president of the American Association of Human-Animal Bond veterinarians (AAH-ABV).

Following an invitation by the association’s board of directors, Dr. Downing took over the post in July at the 2010 American Veterinary Medical Association meeting in Atlanta. She’ll serve a term of two years.

The AAH-ABV is an organization aimed at advancing the role of the veterinary medical community in nurturing positive human-animal interactions in society. Dr. Downing has been a member of the group since its inception in 1993.
