Delaware veterinarians must disclose side effects of prescription medications to clients if asked.
DOVER, DEL.—Delaware veterinarians must disclose side effects of prescription medications to clients if asked.
The Delaware Board of Veterinary Medicine issued the final order March 1 and now requires veterinarians to provide a list of the side effects of prescribed medications to pet owners either verbally or in a written or electronic format when requested to do so. Failure to do so could result in a charge of unprofessional conduct under the state's veterinary practice act, according to the new rule.
