Compact Microtome

March 1, 2003

The Vibratome Company's CompPro 3000 Microtome for use in veterinary laboratories

The compact size of The Vibratome Companys CompPro 3000 Microtome makes it ideal for use in veterinary laboratories and clinics where space is at a premium, according to the company. If frozen sectioning is infrequent and a full-size, full-priced cryostat cannot be justified, the CompPro 3000 is a viable alternative, the company says. It can easily be transported from laboratory to laboratory and used in the field.Designed with a small footprint, the CompPro 3000 is available with either a hand wheel or lever operated microtome. It features thermostatically controlled temperatures in the range ambient to 30C with a digital display. The instrument uses disposable blades and incorporates and easy-to-set anti-roll plate. In addition to standard voltages, the CompPro 3000 is available as a battery operated 12V instrument. This enables the unit to be used in the field and provides added versatility, the company says.
