According to the 2010 National Pet Obesity Awareness Day Study, approximately 54% of all dogs and cats were found to be overweight or obese.1 Of those, 32% of cats were overweight and 21.6% were observed to be clinically obese or greater than 30% of normal body weight. Thirty-five percent of dogs were found to be overweight and 20.6% obese. This equals an estimated 93 million overweight or obese dogs and cats in the United States.
