Correct! Your math is perfect but you realize that the infusion rate is too high for a 5-kg cat and will likely cause fluid overload, so you need to adjust the protocol for this case. A rate of 38 ml/hr (or 0.6 ml/min) for two to three hours is more appropriate. You still need to monitor Rintu closely, but a healthy patient with normal cardiac and renal function should not have a problem.
