To reflect changes in canine vaccinations, AAHA updated the AAHA Canine Vaccine Guidelines, originally released in 2003. AAHA says the following factors contributed to the decision to change: the rise of well-documented durations of immunity studies, industry support of extended re-vaccination intervals, and developing areas of shelter medicine.
