From blueprints to buildings: What the average veterinary facility looks like

You know how much your facility cost to build, but what about other practices? Here's an inside look at clinics across the country.

This year's Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Competition included 39 entries from across the country. Some owners built huge, expensive facilities; others scaled it down. Some spent extra money to hire design consultants; others chose to stick to the basics. For two days, our judges scoured through the entries, analyzing floor plans, comparing finish materials, and evaluating logos and signage. Here's a sampling of the size, cost, type, and location of the clinics entered in our 2009 competition.
