Best Advice for Overwhelming Student Debt

Tony Bartels, DVM, MBA, consultant for the Veterinary Information Network, gives his best advice to students who find their debt is becoming overwhelming. Look for sources of funds that don't accumulate interest while you're in veterinary school, which are few and far between.

Be aware of the amounts of money you're borrowing before, during and after veterinary school. Also, be careful of the advice you get from your mentors and parents because their situation when they graduated was far different from your situation today.
