AmeriVet Veterinary Partners and Not One More Vet (NOMV) announced that the Race Around the World event last month raised 11,856.65 for NOMV to help provide support for veterinary professionals struggling with mental health issues. From September 1 to September 30, participants from around the world raised money to support multiple NOMV initiatives such as support grants for those in crisis, peer support programs, educational programming, and more.

"As a partner of NOMV, we were honored to be a part of a race initiative that raised awareness and funds for mental health resources in the veterinary industry," said Thomas Thill, chief executive officer of AmeriVet Veterinary Partners, in an organizational release.1 "We hope our efforts further support the organization's goals and help to move the needle in the veterinary mental health space."

According to the release,1 the AmeriVet Care team race page allowed employees, partners, and friends to join the race. The participants tracked miles they biked, ran, walked, or rode horseback through the entire month on either a Fitbit, Apple Watch, or logging miles manually. At the end of the race, the Amiervet Care team logged 2,203.33 miles.

To help support the efforts of the team, AmeriVet pledged an additional 5 dollars per mile logged and will gift the top 4 team members with new running or walking shoes for their contributions to the team.

"Partnering with AmeriVet has provided so much momentum for our Race Around the World," said Darlene Bos, NOMV executive director.1 "The AmeriVet Cares Race Team brought camaraderie and joy to the event. The generous donation from AmeriVet recognizing their team's achievements will help us provide more resources and support for veterinary professionals in crisis through free NOMV programs like individual grants, peer support, and outreach and awareness."
