Always know where your needles are

See how one clinic keeps track of needles and sringes.

It may not be an extra pair of hands, but Erica Carr, CVT, with Pine Creek Veterinary Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo., may have created the next best thing. "We're always putting needles on our IV pumps and, of course, when moved, the needles always fall to the floor," she says. "So I sewed a holder to Velcro onto the pump to hold such things as needles and flush syringes." Carr attached a clear outer cover to the holder so team members could see inside.
