Erica Brandt, CVT, VTS (ECC): So my story is not very glamorous, but I think it's one way that a lot of veterinary technicians started out. I actually had a crisis with one of my own pets when I was in high school. And so in seeking veterinary care, I found a veterinarian in our area that was getting ready to start a new practice—and being in high school and getting to experience that emergency situation and [seeing] someone that could help us—I was kind of immediately hooked on that aspect of it.
