Colorado Serum Company introduces West Nile Virus (WNV) Antibody for use in horses that has been vaccinated and contract the disease and horses that have tested positive for the virus.

Colorado Serum Company introduces West Nile Virus (WNV) Antibody for use in horses that has been vaccinated and contract the disease and horses that have tested positive for the virus.

The antibody is administered intravenously and provides immediate WNV antibody in the bloodstream, enhancing the animal's ability to fight and neutralize the virus.

The antibody is concentrated and purified and contains higher levels of specific antibodies at product release which means a lower dose volume is needed, 10 ml per 100 pounds of body weight, the company says.

The WNV antibody eliminates the need to pre-treat for possible reactions with histamine blockers or anti-inflammatory agents but also contains no phenol, the company adds.

The product is easy to administer and is ready to use from the bottle.
