Interview Transcript (slightly modified for readability)

"Fear Free is just a combination of using techniques that are low-stress on our patients. The more calm our patients are, the better it is for us to do our job—not only in a patient-friendly way, but in a client-friendly way.

Our clients bring pets in because they care about them. They want us to deliver that same amount of care to their pets in a calm, easy-to-digest way. So, what I like to do is tell people at their confirmation that we're all about bribery. We want their pet's appointment to be the best it can be. If [their pet] really likes treats, bring their favorite cookies, if they really like a squeaky toy, bring that with them—anything to make that process easier for that pet and, of course, as low stress as possible at all times."
