Vetri-Science Laboratories introduces Vetri-Lean and Vetri-Lean Plus, weight-loss supplements for dogs that contain the ingredient Phase 2 Pet® starch neutralizer.

In an eight-week, veterinary-conducted canine trial, 88 percent of the dogs consuming the product lost weight without any additional changes to diet or exercise, the company says.

Phase 2 starch neutralizer is an extract of the white bean and inhibits alpha amylase, the enzyme that digests starch allowing a portion of consumed carbohydrates to pass through the system before they can be converted to fat, the company says.
